One of the ugliest heirloom melon varieties yet almost ornamental. This old French variety produces lots of round flattened shaped fruit with knobbly skin. Dark green grey skin colour and bright orange flesh, average weight about 3-5 lb. Absolutely delicious and very productive. Originally from north of the Loire river in France so does well in cooler climates.
