Cucumis melo. A beautiful and rare heirloom from France, and the Old French heirloom that became almost extinct. Heavily ribbed fruits, looking like mishaped pumpkins. Iregular shaped fruits have sweet orange flesh and weigh about 1-2 pounds. Very hard to find, but alive and well in France. .
